 Summary of the Industrial Visit:
Students of 4th and 2nd semester school of diploma studies visited construction work of “International swimming pool†at Saurashtra University campus Rajkot. The construction company who has taken construction work explains briefly the whole construction work and also shown material on site used in construction work. The company name “RATI ENGINEERING†has taken this construction work. On site we show raft foundation work, column work, slab work, stair work and retaining wall work undergoing, the size of swimming pool was 50m in length and 25m in width and 3m depth. The swimming pool having foundation of metal layer 380mm and P.C.C 150mm having double layer of steel zali of 12mm diameter on both side of slab thickness 450mm. we also show another baby swimming pool of size length 25 m and width 12.5m and depth 2.10m. student of strength were 60 participated with faculties, Mr Vijay Patel, Mr Ilyas Mathakiya Mr. Hardik Ashara, and Jay Gohil.
During the visit, students learned about steel design of column retaining wall and raft foundation and column foundation and got basic knowledge related to it. Students understood different design with working drawing on site given by company engineer Name Samir Davda and Raj Asodariya. We were thankful to company engineer who had helped on site for our visit.
